Problems we see urgently
Knocked-out tooth
Hold the tooth by the crown, not the root. Keep it moist in milk and get to the clinic as quickly as you can. Time matters.
Broken or chipped tooth
Rinse your mouth, keep any pieces you can find, and call us. A cold compress on the cheek helps with swelling.
Swelling or abscess
A swollen gum or face can mean infection. Use a cold compress, do not apply heat, and seek care the same day.
Lost filling or crown
Keep the crown safe and avoid chewing on that side. We can usually re-fit or replace it promptly.
Bleeding after extraction
Bite firmly on clean gauze for 20 minutes. If it does not stop, call us or go to a hospital.
